Glowing Fairy Jar!

I had bookmarked a project I wanted to do with my little sister Mary Grace a while ago on a craft blog.  While perusing Pinterest, I came across it again and thought oh I should probably do this before summer's end!
It's a Glowing Fairy Jar!  It was super easy and inexpensive to make but Mary Grace loved it (OK, I was memorized by it as was everyone else!).

All you need is glitter

A glow stick

Then a mason jar....that's it three items and hours of fun!

First step is pour into the mason jar some glitter (helps the glow stick juice be stuck to the walls)

Crack your chosen glow stick color and shake to light it up

Cut it open

Pour it into the mason jar (P.S. whoever knew that the part you crack inside the plastic glow stick tube is actually glass?!?! Watch as the glass falls out into the mason jar....not very child safe if you ask me!)

Then shake it up....can you see her excitement?!?!

Then it's fairy-fied!

Porch lights off view

So many color combinations you can do.  The smaller mason jar seemed to be brighter, not sure because it is more in less area or because of the brighter color possibly?  The one on the right was actually a pink glow stick with purple glitter but seemed to take on a purple glow.  This would be fun for a camping trip, slumber party, Halloween, or just for fun like we did.  Any transparent jar could be used especially with young children running around with it a plastic one may be more of a logical choice.  We had fun with this quick simple project and will definitely remember it for the future!
