Playing Catch-Up!

I feel like I have abandoned my blog!  I have a million and one topics that run through my head that I want to post about however the time just has not been there.  So here is my playing catch-up post jumbled into little topics!

Our Mini Vacation:

We were able to get a group picture snapped right before we left, don't mind the exhausted smiles and just left the pool wet look!

We all had a great time on our mini vacation to an indoor water park.  N is a natural fish and our investment in his puddle jumper life jacket right before we left was a proven success.  It allowed him to swim around independently (with us closely around).  He quickly learned how to flip from his front to his back and can swim freely with us able to relax a bit.  Being an independent 18 month old these have become his best friends even when we go swimming at our local rec center!

Mary joined us too and had a great time!

Of course Baby E got in on the swimming action and her face says it all!

We had a family suite and it was a perfect size for a wild toddler and the rest of us.

The Kiddo's:

Yesterday Baby E turn 5 months old and N turned 18 months old a day prior to that!  The two are getting so big so quickly and are both flying through developmental stages.  Baby E now circles and can scoot backwards.  She is starting to pull her legs into crawling formation and no doubt will be crawling forward shortly!  She has been cheating on her tummy time as she knows she can roll over so often tummy time becomes a battle between wills with her flipping and me flipping her back to her tummy just for her to flip over again and smile right at me :)

N is starting to lose his baby face and is taking on the little boy look recently :-/ He is your typical 18 month old that loves pushing boundaries and needing constant redirection and supervision.  He has no fear and is honestly a wild one that keeps me on my toes and is the definition of all boy.  He comprehends everything said to him and is picking up words bit by bit but can communicate everything in gestures.  He is a character for sure and has such a funny class clown personality.

We are constantly asked for updates on the kids case.  While we can't share too many details, we can say that court in the start of February ended up being just a continuation for temporary custody of the children in foster care.  The judge agreed for them to remain in custody of the county and the next court date is set for August.  We were surprised with how far out that is seeing that N will be 2 and baby E will be a month shy of her 1st birthday but we've been ensured this is normal course of action.  All we can do in the meantime is love on them like crazy and wait and see what the outcome will be come August.  August we've been told will be the last straw in the case and they will either at that time return to their birthmother or parental rights will be severed and they will be placed for adoption.  So we do what we have learned to do best and that is sit, wait, and pray.

1 month old and 4 months old comparison of baby E and Meeko!

Another comparison shot!  It's unbelievable now at just shy of 18 lbs at 5 months old she's the same baby that came to us at barely over 5 lbs!

Fearless N with Aunt Mary. How many kids have an aunt young enough to enjoy all the fun kid stuff with them?

Just because I couldn't resist this cuteness!

Or this cuteness either! Someone is enjoying dada working from home today!

He has really become Brian's mini me :)

Baby William:

He's all of 33 weeks today and growing well!  The baby shower is this upcoming weekend and I look forward to seeing family and friends as we celebrate the upcoming arrival of this little guy!  With only 7 weeks left until my due date, it has become increasingly very real that he is going to be here shortly.  My belly measurements have always been about a week ahead but at my ob appointment yesterday Wills is measuring 3 weeks ahead now!  There is no cause of concern as I don't have gestational diabetes or anything (yup passed that glucose test!) just means I likely will be having a big baby!  The doctor said at my next appointment in 2 weeks, if I'm still measuring ahead we can talk about getting a growth ultrasound done and depending on that we may have to talk about an early induction down the road before my due date if he is as big as I'm measuring.  Of course the word induction we want to avoid but we know the doctor is the specialist and knows what's best and have to wait and see.  In the meantime we started yesterday a 6 week series of birthing classes (hope we get to take all the classes!) and are nesting at home by organizing the house, trying to get ahead on household duties, and preparing in general for Wills' arrival!
