Kiddie Park and Memory Lane

This past Thursday we spent our evening at Memphis Kiddie Park.  It is the same kids amusement park that we went to growing up.  This was GT's first time.

Well the planes went from not too sure about them

To full out freak out!

The merry go round was much better!

Chief and Mimsy

First circle around on the boats was all frowns.

Second go around full out fussing show!

Third time around was a charm, he found the bell and it was full steam ahead from there! (He's such an actor and has the fake cry down!)

Then it was time to be put in a locked cage....well it's also called a ferris wheel

He seemed to enjoy this one until the very end.

The cars were a big hit, no frowns or fake crying here!

Then came roller coaster time!

He liked it so much he went on again this time with Uncle Brian (which was his first time going on - he was deprived as a child of the Little Dipper)!

This same machine we used to get little toys out of when we were young, surprised to find it still there and operational!

What did he get for 50 cents?  Yup my husband got crabs....

Ended the day with a train ride around the whole park.

GT loved the train!

Then we took a trip around the area on our way back of all the different places from my parents past.  Their first houses, schools, even the church my dad was baptized at and they were married at.  Also happens to be where I was baptized at and we had considered getting married at.  We threw the idea out as the church was closing and figured we would go with our home church still it would still be standing!  The church is now closed and most of the stain glass windows have been removed as has the gold onion top that used to be at the top.  There were different trucks there looking like they were going to tear it down shortly.

The cornerstone

Last picture in front of the doors!
