Dog Park Excursion

We have an awesome dog park only a few cities away from us.  It is open year round but since our pups are lacking in the fur department, we tend to take winters and the end of Fall when it gets cold seasons off.  On Saturday we decided with the nice sun shining and an open day that we would take our two dogs out to the dog park.  It also happened to be Brian's birthday....yup he's 24 years old now!  This was Tucker's first experience at the dog park and he loved it.  Yes, much like Meeko he went person to person greeting every human in sight but then he did go to greet other animals as well.  Mr. Meeko on the other hand tends to follow us around and go up to anyone willing to give a pet or two to him.

The park is a pretty nice sized fenced in area in the Metroparks.  They seem to be making improvement after improvement such as they put in a small new pavilion with seating underneath.

Tucker really got enjoyment out of bothering a tiny Chihuahua that only wanted to bark and snap at him.  He found great enjoyment pestering the poor thing as it hid under a bench!

Playing some fetch with Brian and other dogs.  The Rhodesian Ridgeback pictured here was out of control crazy, honestly the most hyper dog I have ever laid eyes on.  She needed a heavy dose of Ritalin no joke!

An action shot of my three men!

Of course the best part is on the ride home and once we get home and the two are just wiped out from their trip!

We stopped at the pet store to get crickets for Jaxon (our tree frog) and found the greyhounds were there!  Cousins of our little whippets and we just so happened to run into two different greyhounds at the dog park too! Throughout the store everyone kept asking about our "little greyhounds" and we had to explain they are close cousins but actually whippets not greyhounds.  Everywhere we go everyone assumes our whippets are greyhounds but we just have to remind them that nope they are whippets, practically a greyhound in a more manageable size!

Of course Meeko and Tucker were asking us why they aren't privy to such a bus with their faces on it!  Keep dreaming boys!
