It's true....I am a pathetic blogger! My poor blog has been abandoned and left in the dust trail as life seems to just be going at lightening speed. I refuse to give up and just abandon blogging and have made it a goal to blog at least four times a week from here on out! I know Mrs. Blog you want a legal document signed but I will do one better....I will PINKY PROMISE!!!!
From this day forward, in proper pinky swearing fashion, I will share my oh-so-wonderful thoughts, memories, and random bloggings with no excuses (Sorry Mr. Treadmill, you don't get the same promise for my same amount of involvement as I don't make promises I know I can't/won't keep :)
That's right, my blog is going to hear about everything!
Now to catch up on everything from April to today September 13 in the fastest way possible! So let us now proceed into the fast lane and zip through the past almost 5 months in a mere few minutes!
I left off leaving a tiny post with links to our Honduras pictures. Oh what a trip and endless posts that I could dish out about the entire trip. It was Brian's first time to Honduras and on a mission trip. His mind was blown and we did not want to leave and come home!
Unfortunately we had to return home but a piece of hearts were and will always be in Honduras with the orphan children there. What a beautiful country and culture. While a country of stricken desperate poverty it is also a country of beautiful people with endless faith that leaves one wishing for such pure real faith.
Our time there was short but the friendships we rekindled and the new friendships we formed will follow us forever. Having been there twice prior I had the opportunity to see my old amigos and boy have they all grown up!
The most rewarding part of the trip was seeing my dear Luis. An orphan boy who befriended me back in 2007 whom I have had the wonderful opportunity to sponsor and keep in touch with through the years. I have the honor of being his madrina which means godmother which he lovingly titled me back in 2007 and still refers to me to everyone he comes across.
Nothing was sweeter than the moment he saw me and right away ran to me with open arms and tears in his eyes. It was a moment for the big screen but completely unscripted and a complete surprise to him that I was visiting. He and Brian formed a great bond and hit it off right away wrestling with each other and joking back and forth. When he showed me the binder I had given him back in 2007 where he had kept every note I had sent to him my heart just dropped onto the floor. Oh how my love for this boy goes so deep!
It is only a matter of when we will be going back, not if. I am so happy my husband was able to see where pieces of my heart have been after all the stories I have shared with him. We look forward to visiting again in the near future.
In May my little sister Mary Grace had her First Communion. She was a great model for my first shooting experience with my new backdrops and lighting. She is such a natural beauty!
We even were able to get a normal full family picture to document the event
My best friend and her boyfriend welcomed into this world a handsome baby boy Maverick. No I will not take all the credit for setting them up or anything :) I am happy to now say I am the proud aunt to two nephews now!
Talking about my first nephew, GT is now HUGE! Here we are doing some chalking.
He is already 1 years old and just getting way too big!
Followed Brian on two different business trips to the Buffalo, NY area. Decided one night, with a friend Lindsey who traveled from Erie to spend the day with us, to head to Canada for dinner. Lindsey and I had our first Casino experience (Brian is experienced from his business trips to Las Vegas). With only the free $10 casino money I actually left having won!
Of course we saw Niagara Falls all lit up before heading back to the US.
Even caught a glance at a rainbow in the mist!
Invites went out and we celebrated Meeko's 1st Birthday....oh how time flies!
Ms. Molly was in attendance
The birthday boy!
Big Brother in festive attire
Cousin Havoc....don't look too excited!
The dog cake was a big hit!
Yup we have birthday parties for our dogs!
With our renewed zoo membership we even had time this summer for some zoo trips!
GT loves the monkeys!
Too cute!
And to bring this whole post up to date I am currently requesting Chicago to return my husband to me! Brian was put on a long at least 6 week project working in Chicago. While I could travel with him if I desire, someone has to take care of our two fluffy children and our tree frog Jaxon. We are on week 4 I believe (with possibly an extension through October) but I am soooooooooooo over this whole leave Monday thru Friday. So please Chicago please return Brian (not just for weekends) pronto!
It really sucks being a single parent.....especially when they bark back at you all the time!!!!
So I leave today with the longest post in history with a pinky promise that I will be blogging more and that indeed I will <3 blogging again!
